Snowmobile Introduction

Easy going snowmobile safari in the varying sceneries of the area.

This safari gives us all necessary skills needed to drive a snowmobile in a guided group. Perfect for people who want to try out driving with a snowmobile for the first time! Before we start our guide gives us a full safety briefing and introductions for driving. After the short lesson we head out and drive a short route through snowy landscapes (approximately 20km long). We make stops to take pictures and memorize the moment among the trees. During the safari we will stop for a break with coffee / tea and a sweet bun. After this activity you are ready to join more demanding trips with snowmobiles.

If there is several starting times for the activity, remember to choose right pick up time!
Schedule for pick up places:
Holiday Club Kuusamon Tropiikki 60 min, Rukan Salonki 40 min, MastonAitio skibus stop 25 min or Ruka center skibus stop 15 min before the start.

What's included?
    • Activities are guided and include all necessary gear and winter outfit. 
    • Adult on shared snowmobile = Two persons sitting on the snowmobile. Another is a driver, another is a passenger. You can swop driver on the way. There needs to be two persons in your party when you choose this rate. Then you won´t share snowmobile with a stranger.
    • One adult on snowmobile ( single driving ) = No passanger. You will drive the snowmobile for the whole duration of the trip. 
    Exclusions
      Please note
        • Driving licence is required for driving a snowmobile 
        • Snowmobile driving distance is 20 km
        • Minimum length 140 cm when sitting on snowmobile (feet need to reach firmly until side board)
        • For safety reasons minimum age for this activity is 5 years. For smaller children (3 - 4 years) we recommend to join ice fishing, reindeer farm visit or husky visit.
        • Snowmobile introduction is the only snowmobile activity where children under 140 cm (over 5 - 11 years) travel safely on the sledge with an adult, this adult needs to be from your own party. Sledge is behind the guide´s snowmobile. Please contact to sales@rukasafaris.fi before booking if you have a child with you who will be seated in the sleigh, we will check the situation if there is places available.
